Private Maternity Care

At The Chelsea Birth Clinic, our aim is to make superior private healthcare available to everyone. You can either choose the full maternity package below, or we can put together a bespoke package for you, tailored to suit your individual requirements. Full maternity package

Our comprehensive maternity package includes:

• your initial booking consultation
• all scans from 20 weeks onwards
• 24 hour on-call cover
• emergency consultation should the need arise
• all in-patient consultations and phone calls
• delivery of your baby
• a six week postnatal visit for mum

Ultrasound scans and pathology

All our scans are performed at the Women's Wellness Centre in Chelsea.  The first three scans are payable to the clinic itself and from 20 weeks onwards they are included in our full maternity package.  We recommend that you have the following scans:

• Early Dating (6 – 10 weeks)
• Nuchal scan (11 – 13 weeks)
• Early Anomaly scan (17 - 24 weeks).

You may require additional scans if you're carrying your baby in a breech position, expecting twins or if there are any other unusual aspects to your pregnancy.

Private hospital facilities

All our deliveries take place in the Kensington Wing at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, which offers state of the art maternity equipment and the highest level of neonatal intensive care.

We do our best to create a homelike setting for your stay in hospital and a calm, soothing atmosphere for your birth. We allow unrestricted visits from your family. Your partner may stay overnight in a special bed if desired. Our private rooms include the following:

• en-suite bathroom
• nurse call facilities
• remote control satellite television
• wireless Internet access
• your choice of meals from our daily menus
• catering for special dietary requirements
• room service
• your choice of daily newspaper
• fridge
• personal safe

The Kensington Wing also has a dedicated water birth room which has a pool and equipment such as balls and mats.

Individualised maternity care

At the Chelsea Birth Clinic we strongly support personal choice in childbirth for women and their partners. We discuss the entire spectrum of childbirth options with you and we do our best to accommodate your personal needs and desires.

In the absence of complications, you may prefer a natural or holistic birth, whether this be in water, a standing position or walking around.

If you require or would prefer medical intervention, however, such as an epidural anaesthetic or a c-section, we have the full range of necessary facilities and expertise on hand.

• Routine blood tests are not included in our full maternity package and are carried out either at the Women's Wellness Centre during your scan or at the Kensington Wing by a midwife.
• Although your obstetrician always aims to personally see you throughout your pregnancy and delivery, he is supported by an exceptional team that provides 24 hour on-call cover for him, should the need arise.
• Your booking at the hospital will be confirmed once we have received your first payment.
